Qualifications:  

NYS School District Leader (SDL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certification required. 

 

? Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative experience in curriculum, instruction,  data leadership, or grant-funded program management. 

 

? Demonstrated ability to design and lead professional development focused on instructional improvement and data-informed practice. 

 

? Experience in programmatic oversight and compliance with state and federal education grants. 

 

? Knowledge of NYSED learning standards, accountability metrics, ESSA requirements,  and MTSS frameworks. 

 

? Proven collaborator with the ability to build strong relationships across departments,  schools, and stakeholder groups to support shared goals. 

 

? Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.

Executive Director of Curriculum, Planning & Accountability 

 

The Executive Director of Curriculum, Planning, and Accountability provides strategic oversight of curriculum development, instructional improvement, data-informed decision-making, and accountability systems to support high levels of learning for all students. This position leads the alignment of instructional priorities with district and school improvement plans, ensures the effective implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and oversees the programmatic compliance of federal and state-funded grant initiatives. The Executive Director is also responsible for district-wide assessment management, including the coordination and administration of local and state testing programs to support instructional planning and accountability reporting. A core responsibility of this role is to promote the effective use of data at all levels of the organization and to design professional development that builds staff capacity to use data for equity-focused instructional planning and continuous improvement. .

 

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:  Curriculum & Instruction 

? Lead the development, implementation, and review of a rigorous, standards-aligned, and culturally responsive PK–12 curriculum. 

? Promote instructional strategies grounded in research and responsive to diverse learning needs. 

? Plan and support professional development that strengthens instructional practice and  builds coherence across the district 

 

Strategic Planning & School Improvement 

? Coordinate the development and implementation of school and district improvement  plans  

? Ensure planning processes are aligned to state and federal accountability expectations,  district priorities, and equity goals. 

? Monitor progress toward improvement targets, provide responsive support to schools and instructional teams.

 

Data, Assessment & Professional Development 

? Lead efforts to embed the use of student performance, program effectiveness, and equity data into all instructional planning and decision-making processes. 

? Design and deliver professional development that builds educator and administrator capacity in data literacy, formative assessment practices, and progress monitoring. 

? Oversee district-wide assessment management, including the coordination and administration of state and local testing programs (e.g., NYS 3–8 ELA and Math,  Regents, NYSESLAT, and alternate assessments). 

? Ensure test security protocols, accommodations, and scheduling requirements are met in compliance with NYSED regulations. 

? Collaborate with school-based testing coordinators and instructional leaders to ensure assessments are used effectively to inform instruction and track progress. 

? Monitor and support the analysis and reporting of assessment results to guide school improvement efforts and fulfill state accountability requirements. 

 

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) 

? Oversee districtwide implementation of MTSS, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional components. 

? Support schools in designing and evaluating tiered interventions that are data-informed and aligned to student needs. 

? Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure coherence and consistency in  MTSS practices. 

 

Grant Management & Program Accountability 

? Provide programmatic oversight of key federal and state grants, including: 

? ESSA Title I, II, III, IV 

? School Improvement Grants (CSI/TSI) 

? Ensure compliance with grant regulations and alignment with district instructional priorities. 

? Establish systems to monitor the effectiveness of grant-funded initiatives and ensure they produce measurable student outcomes. 

? Collaborate with the Business Office to maintain accurate budgets and reporting for all grant programs. 

? Supervise staff funded through grants and support the implementation of their associated programs.

 

Collaboration & Communication 

? Work closely with principals, instructional teams, and district leaders to ensure initiatives are aligned and effectively implemented. 

? Share data findings and improvement strategies with staff, families, and the broader school community in accessible and actionable ways. 

? Foster a culture of shared responsibility for using data to improve outcomes for all students, with particular attention to historically underserved groups.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check.
