New Summer Scholars (K-8) Program
(Instructional: 2 Teacher Positions)
Location: 1 - MCSES & 1 - HJHS
Grades: K-8
Rate of Pay: Per Contractual Agreement
Program Date(s) & Hours: July 7–August 7, 2025–8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Candidate(s) must be available for training: June 24-25, 2025 and, on site, for the entire program.
NYS Teacher Certification is required for instructional positions.
Appropriate NYS licensure for nursing position(s) is required.
The Hudson City School District has partnered with the National Summer School Initiative (NSSI) to provide a robust K-8 extended-year program. The program aims to give students who meet the criteria with targeted reading and math instruction for 24 days. If you are interested in this position, you will be part of a National Cohort that will receive ongoing support and resources to teach the skills that students will benefit from to ensure their success for the ensuing year. Here is what you will receive:

Professional Learning Academy (Teacher Institute) - Two full days of training on June 24-25, 2025

Curricular materials- teacher-facing plans, student assignments, instructional slides, pre-and post-assessments, and other materials

National Partners – these teachers will work alongside you, including attendance at the Teacher Institute.

Ongoing Professional Development in Intellectual Preparation and Student Work Analysis for each grade and content area (ELA and math), scheduled periodically and virtual
