Executive Director of Teaching and learning 


The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning is responsible for overseeing the academic program for all grades, K-12. The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning will be expected t o work closely with school principals, teachers,and other academic leaders to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life. This position is responsible for developing and implementing an equitable, and culturally responsive curriculum, instructional practices, teacher training, and assessment strategies that align with the school district's mission and goals. The position is also responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the academic program and making recommendations for improvement. 


Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following 

•    Develop and implement a comprehensive K-12 academic program that aligns with the school district's mission and goals.
•    Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment strategies for all grades.
•    Participate in the APPR process by observing instruction, providing feedback based on best practices research, and utilizing the feedback to determine professional development topics.
•    Provide support to school principals, teachers, and other academic leaders to ensure the academic program is effective and aligned with the school district's mission and goals.
•    Develop and implement professional development opportunities for teachers and other academic leaders to improve instruction and student learning.
•    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the academic program and make recommendations for improvement.
•    Collaborate with other district leaders to ensure that the academic program is aligned with other district initiatives, such as special education, English language learners, and career and technical education.
•    Keep abreast of current research and best practices in K·12 education and use this information to inform the development and implementation of the academic program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:         

•    Master's degree in education or related field required; New York State School District Leader or School District Administrator Certification.
•    A Minimum of 7 years of experience in K-12 education, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
•    Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a comprehensive academic program.
•    Experience in curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment strategies.
•    Strong leadership and communication skills.
•    Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including school principals, teachers, and district leaders.
•    Knowledge of current research and best practices in K-12 education.

District Level Administrative NYS Certification        

           The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check
